Here’s what’s new this week…
A central database for all hydroxyapatite safety studies
I’m proud to announce a new resource for everyone who’s ever had a hard time trying to convince people that hydroxyapatite is legitimate. You can go to the link above for a list of all of the studies on the safety and efficacy of hydroxyapatite. Enormous thank you to Jacqueline Carcaramo, RDH, who is a functional dental care provider and member of this community, for the collaboration on this project. Let us know how you use it!
A functional approach goes viral
I shared a post to social media this week which has already gotten over one million views on Tik Tok. I am so excited that a functional approach to treating bad breath is resonating! If you’re here as a result of that post, welcome. Below I’ve linked to more details for each of the root causes for bad breath:
Bad Breath: Causes and Cures (blog)
What’s the Best Mouthwash for Bad Breath? (blog)
What to Do About Keto Breath from a Low-Carb Diet (blog)
How to Use a Tongue Scraper (video)
Saliva: Functions and Benefits for Oral Health (blog)
💬 As always, please submit your questions for my podcast here.
Episode #46: What You Need to Know About the DSO Dental Model
Tune in to hear…
- What a DSO (Dental Support Organization) is like as a dental practitioner
- How the type of practice you choose can affect your outcomes as a patient
- The story of how I was fired from my very first job
Please help us spread the word about the importance of the oral-systemic connection by leaving a review for the podcast.
Thanks for reading and have a great week.

P.S. My friend Patrick McKeown has created a wonderful mouth tape for children ages 4-16. Check it out here. And check out my interview with Patrick on YouTube “Mouth Breathing in Children“ as well. Here is my granddaughter, age four, modeling how to use it!
