Here’s what’s going on this week…
Coming Soon: A central database for all hydroxyapatite safety studies
One of my favorite things about this community is the collaboration. I recently met functional dental provider Jacqueline Carcaramo, RDH and we realized we were both keeping our own repository of studies on hydroxyapatite.
We decided to join forces and publish this for the benefit of dentists, patients, hygienists everywhere. My team is working on uploading the studies, and I’ll be able to share next week. In the meantime, I invite you to join us in the effort—what’s the most meaningful study you’ve come across to help you convince people to try hydroxyapatite? ➡️ Email me and let’s add it!
Update on the TSCA trial
It was a short status hearing that was over in two minutes. The court is waiting for the finalized NTP monograph and other recent fluoride neurotoxin studies. Next hearing will be in June.
I’m reading between the lines here—Judge Chen appears ready to rule in favor of the plaintiff because his one line is “let’s see what the NTP says about fluoride” but if you look at what the NTP has said about fluoride, they already agree it’s a neurotoxin! This looks to me like they’re just dotting their i’s and crossing their t’s and I think we’ll get some good news soon. 🤞
“I’ve never heard flossing described this way before.”
Flossing can help prevent dementia, prevent heart disease, reduce inflammation and CRP (C-reactive protein), prevent preterm birth, and boost fertility. How on earth does it do all that? It boils down to one thing: INFLAMMATION. And the pandemic has done nothing if not highlight to all of us the importance of reducing chronic inflammation.
Because this post generated a ton of attention last week, I’m linking more flossing resources here. Feel free to share widely:

💬 If there’s anything you’d like me to address with regard to flossing and inflammation, please ask your question here. I’ll be happy to discuss your question on my weekly podcast.
Podcast Episode #44: Should You Share Your Oral Microbiome With Your Child?
Why do I advise against kissing kids on the mouth, even though our ancestors have been doing it for centuries? That’s the topic of this week’s podcast episode. Tune in!
I so enjoy discussing your questions and want to make this podcast as helpful as possible for you, so please send me your feedback and suggestions.
Please help us spread the word about the importance of the oral-systemic connection by leaving a review for the podcast wherever you listen to podcasts.
Thanks for reading and have a great week.
P.S. In case you missed it, my readers save 10% on Bristle oral microbiome testing with the code DRB . You can’t be healthy without a healthy oral microbiome, and this test has made it as simple as spitting and mailing it in to get that life-changing data.
