This week, I’d like to address the question of dental x-rays, specifically the questions I see most often:
“Are dental x-rays safe?”
“Is the radiation from dental x-rays safe for kids?”
“When should I refuse dental x-rays?”
When it comes to x-rays, I encourage you to think of the ALARA principle, which stands for “As Low As Reasonably Achievable.” Minimize your and your family’s exposure to x-rays as much as you can, but be aware there will likely be times where x-rays are necessary and beneficial.
It’s all about weighing the cost versus benefit.

Have a great week and thanks for reading this edition of Mondays with Mark. I’d be so grateful if you forwarded this email to a friend you think would be interested in this information.
P.S. Your saliva is more powerful than you think. I’m seeing so many people struggle with their oral health simply because their saliva lacks the proper minerals it needs to do it’s job! Something I use daily to ensure the ionic integrity of my saliva is this electrolyte powder, because of its unique ratio of sodium, magnesium, and potassium. This is the easiest way to be certain your saliva is doing what it’s supposed to do.
