Giveaway: Dr. Tung's Toothbrush Sanitizer and Gift Certificate ($50 Value)

This contest is closed and the winners have been selected.

Congratulations to…

Val, who looks forward to using her sanitizers on long days of shooting as an indie film director.

Candace, who will never again accidentally use her co-workers toothbrush.

Helen, who will use her sanitizers while traveling and at home with the family’s toothbrushes.

This snap-on sanitizer is something I’ve been using for over four years now.

It’s one of my favorite products when it comes to naturally keeping your toothbrush clean and helping habit formation by rewarding you for brushing.

You can read why I love this sanitizer here, as well as a video review of my thoughts on the new design here.

It’s not enough to be brushing your teeth morning and night.  If you eat lunch and snack throughout the day, brushing between meals is essential.

Toothpaste isn’t often an option when brushing on-the-go, but when I use these sanitizers, I don’t miss it — every time you take your toothbrush out, it smells and tastes amazing since the sanitizer encases your toothbrush head and releases all-natural vapors of lemon, clove, peppermint, tea tree, and thyme.

How to Enter

If you would like to enter the contest please read and follow these rules…

  1. The contest is open to those with a U.S. or Canadian shipping address only.
  2. To enter the contest, please leave a comment below sharing where or how you would use your snap-on sanitizer. Readers have told me they use these little guys to stash toothbrushes in the car, in a backpack while camping, or even in a significant other’s purse (talk about dropping a hint!) I want to know in the comments — how would you use yours?
  3. Only one entry is allowed per person UNLESS you follow Dr. Tung’s on Facebook. If you are one of their Facebook fans (or become one) you are allowed two entries! You can just say that you “follow” on your second entry.
  4. The contest will end at midnight EST on Thursday, January 29.
  5. The winner will be selected at random and announced on both the Ask the Dentist Twitter and Facebook pages (as well as emailed directly so make sure your address is entered correctly in your comment below!). The winner will have 3 days to respond before they are disqualified, and a new winner is chosen.

Please note: Your email address will not be shared or used for any other purpose.

THREE winners will be chosen by Dr. Tung’s on Friday, January 30th.

Good Luck!

  1. I would use these for toothbrushes for my sons to keep in their backpacks at school. At his school, the teachers send the kids to the bathroom to brush after lunch recess! I’d also keep one for myself of course for my purse 🙂 Thanks, Dr. B!

  2. I would use Dr.Tungs snap on toothbrush sanitizers everywhere! At home as well as on the go…great to send in my son’s backpack and my purse rather than putting the brush in a plastic baggie which probably just makes a little hot house for bacteria to grow…I’d also just use it at home so I’d know my toothbrush was clean…I’ve heard that even flushing the toilet with the lid up can get bacteria in the air…yep I’m a proud germophobe and I would LOVE these!

    • It’s true, Stephanie – bacteria is EVERYWHERE! These are quite handy for keeping that toothbrush squeaky clean. You may be interested to know that our Snap-On Sanitizers also use EcoPure, an organic additive we add to our plastic products that enables them to biodegrade faster once the time comes to toss it away and snap on a new one.

  3. I love to use them for traveling, of course, but my favorite way is just to use them in the bathroom. That way I can keep my toothbrush out within easy reach and know that it’s clean.

  4. i would share these with my colleagues at my 2 dental offices and if liked possibly but them to give away instead of toothbrushes to those that don’t need a new toothbrush!

  5. I would use these santizers everywhere I go, because my toothbrush follows me everywhere I go! I would take it in my purse, in my work locker, and just in the bathroom at home.

  6. I would keep these in my backpack! Since I’m going to be a future dentist, (just got into 8 dental schools) these are absolute must for me! I’d also bring these to the place I volunteer at so I can show the kids there how exciting brushing can be! I’d tell them to keep them in their “cubbies”! I’m sure they would love the idea. Got to encourage kids early so great habits can form….EARLY!!

    • Eshaan, that is so awesome! Congratulations on your acceptances! Agreed, it’s all about getting kids started early and making it really fun. Dr. Tung’s makes some snap-on sanitzers for kids with lions and pandas on them — my daughters use them even though they’re, ahem, grown and left the house.

      • Thanks a lot! I’ve decided I will be attending UCSF this fall. 🙂
Hahaha that is awesome your kids are still kids at heart! I think I’ll purchase some of those for the kids at my volunteer organization. I can hand them out as prizes for the kids who do well on my oral health quiz. 😛

  7. I would take my sanitizer with me if I were going out to eat and wanted to freshen my breath right after. I love foods with garlic and would hate to ruin apotentially good evening with too much garlic breath!

    • Erin, garlic breath is good for oral health! Or at least, allicin, a compound in garlic, has antibacterial properties which have been shown might benefit oral health. Love this tip as I’m a garlic lover too.

  8. I am also a Facebook follower. 🙂

(I would also use it for travelling, because I want to bring my fresh breath with me wherever I go!)

  9. I would love to try these out!! I would use them for my toothbrush that is located on my bathroom sink! Being a Dental Hygienist… I would def. recommend this product to patients!

  10. I love sweet tea so I always need to carry a toothbrush with me because I hate the feeling sweet tea leaves on your teeth. Plus I would use one for my toothbrush in the bathroom.

  11. I love the snap on sanitizer covers. I do a lot of traveling, and would use one for my travel Dr. Tung’s ionic toothbrush. The others would be for my kids’, and my own home toothbrushes.

  12. The unthinkable for a hygienist happened to me after lunch at work one day. I brushed my teeth with my co-worker’s toothbrush!!! Love her, but ewwwwww! I would definitely use my cover to distinguish my toothbrush from the others at work!

  13. As a indie film director, Ii will be great to use on those long days of shooting! It’s going to be so refreshing to have that burst of herbal freshness and cleanliness in the saniitizer mingling with my Ayurvedic toothpaste. Time to get that shot now after 15 takes!

    • These sound amazing! I’m a mother of 5(most teenagers)so these would be perfect for them to take along everywhere! I also stay at a sick friend of mine that I hDrelp&i could leave it there so I know I’m not without a fresh steriled cle toothbrush, instead of having to keep buying new ones.

  14. I would LOVE to use these for toothbrush storage. We travel yearly to Florida and I always struggle with finding a sanitary place to store our brushes. I usually end up having to buy my husband, our two boys and myself, all new toothbrushes just for our trip. Mainly because I’m a freak when it comes to anything coming into contact with our brush bristles. These could really save us some money. Thank you! P.S. I follow on Facebook. 🙂

  15. I would definitely use this in my purse for brushing my teeth during the day. I would also have my son put this in his backpack because he just got braces and needs to brush more often!

  16. I bought these for our 10 yr old to store her toothbrush in while at camp. What a marvellous idea and compact way of protecting her toothbrush from nasty germs. I just wish they had a longer shelf life! Then I would keep mine in one ALL THE TIME!!!
    Thanks

  17. I use Dr. Tung’s at home, on trips, and anywhere I carry my toothbrush. Unfortunately, most of the places here in Hilo have stopped carrying it.

  18. I travel to my elderly mother’s house every week to help care for her and would use these during transporting my toothbrush there and back.

  19. I would love to try the newly designed snap-on sanitizer by Dr. Tung’s.. If my teeth don’t feel like I just had them cleaned, I become very self conscious. Being able to carry my Dr. Tung’s ionic toothbrush in my pocket or purse would be a blessing. Every time I come across something unique that promotes healthy living, that’s the item my immediate and extended family receives for Christmas that year..

  20. I will use my new snap-on sanitizer on my Dr. Tung’s ionic toothbrush, the most effective toothbrush I have ever owned. I am a Dr. Tung follower.

  21. I keep a toothbrush in a plastic bag at work. This is such a great idea…so much better than a bag, lol. I think I would keep it on my toothbrush at home too. Sometimes you knock it over and it can land in the sink or wherever and this way it would be protected. It would also keep it germ free!! Awesome idea!!!! So excited!! Can you buy these at any store?

  22. I would use the toothbrush sanitizers on my new, waiting to arrive, Dr. Tung’s ionic toothbrushes. I am looking forward to using them. I have not used a manual toothbrush for an extensive period of time, yet I’m really excited about using this one.

  23. Looking forward to trying the new sanitizers in my bathroom, car, purse and on our boat. We have a lot of raft ups on our boat and this is a great idea after snacking . Since I’ve been using Dr. Tung’s toothbrush, my teeth have been plaque free at my annual check-ups. Thank you for such great products.
