Crest Be Adventurous Mint Chocolate toothpaste immediately grabbed my attention since Crest announced the new flavor at the same time all the research was coming out that chocolate is good for your teeth — perhaps even better than fluoride.
Once studies came out proving chocolate’s benefits for warding off tooth decay, it seemed natural that a chocolate toothpaste should hit the market.
Looks like we’re still going to have to wait.
Sadly, Crest Be Adventurous Mint Chocolate toothpaste contains all of the flavor and no chocolate whatsoever.
This is such a lost opportunity!
Crest had the potential here to capitalize on an ingredient that’s been proven to be more effective that the much more dangerous alternative, fluoride, plus — it’s chocolate! What’s not to love about brushing your teeth with chocolate?
Crest says their Be Adventurous Mint Chocolate toothpaste wards off tooth decay, but they’re referring to sodium fluoride — the same ingredient found in original Crest and many another toothpastes.
I’m still waiting for a toothpaste containing real chocolate compounds to hit the market.
Until then, I guess I’m stuck with a minimum effective dose of one 75%-85% dark chocolate bar once per day…you know, just to make sure I’m really protecting my teeth.
